Post & Rail Setup

Install posts securely, measure carefully, and cut rails to fit with proper angles.

Our posts come precut to 42” or 36” railing,  One of our specialists will review your plan drawing and packing slip with you. When your materials arrive, check to make sure you have everything. If anything is missing or you have questions, contact us right away.

  • Review Materials: Make sure they match what came on your invoice and site layout.
  • Fasten brackets onto each post.
  • Insert Rubber Gasket: Insert rubber gasket into channel groove and make sure it is fully seated along entire length. Press firmly into place.
  • Fasten Post to Deck.
  • Insert Planks In Between Posts: Slide plank between vertical posts, and push firmly until fully seated. Check alignment on both ends.
  • Fasten Planks Onto Brackets:  Making sure everything in level, fasten plank against bracket.
  • Go over the entire railing system and check if you missed any loose screws, notice if there are any scratches.
  • Step back to admire a job well done.

  Posts feel wobbly after installation

Privacy Wall - Quick Code Checklist

Post Layout

  • Maximum 4.5 feet between posts (center to center)
  • Closer spacing may be required depending on height and wind load
  • Posts must handle 200 lb sideways load

Purpose & Limitations

  • Privacy walls are decorative/divider elements only
  • Cannot act as a fall protection system
  • Cannot be used as the primary guard on elevated decks

Privacy Wall Height

  • Aluminum Privacy wall heights vary between 36″ to 80″
  • Glass Privacy wall heights vary between 36″ to 72″
  • Cannot obstruct required guard height measurements
  • Does NOT replace required 42″ guard railing systems

Installation Requirements

  • Posts must be securely fastened to deck joists or blocking
  • Use structural fasteners: GRK 6″ structural screws recommended
  • Minimum 2 fasteners per post connection
  • Ensure blocking is properly installed beneath deck surface where needed
